Have just been viewing Joanna Bogle's blog, re-her cycle ride to Brighton, very brave of her considering all the risks of to day. I admire her writing and wish I had half her talent, but I'm afraid I shall just have to be content with my own poor efforts and if anybody reads my blog out of curiosity I hope they wont be too disappointed, I live a simple and ordinary life with nothing
terribly exciting happening. Although we did drive down to Whitstable, to see my youngest sister J,who unfortunately lost her husband earlier this year, after suffering a stroke for five years.
J has been a Red Cross volunteer for many years, until she had to retire due to her age, but now continues to help them with their Red Cross Links, by typing away on her computer letters and information etc to past volunteers like herself. J is a wonderful person always thinking of others, what you might call a good Christian.
Just one more thing before I go, apart from Joanna Bogle, is there anyone else interested in EWTN? if so I would love to hear from them.

Too many weeks have gone by to recall everything that has happened, but recently I have attended two group meetings to do with training Lay Ministers of Holy Communion. I found these friendly and happy, everyone willing to help. Paul, our leader explained everything so well that we did'nt leave saying"what did he mean"?
Last Friday evening, June15th I attended the Celebration of the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth held in Winchester Cathedral. There was a great crowd of people, and voices raised the roof with the concluding hymn Praise to the Holiest in the height. myself and the friends I travelled with enjoyed it all very much.
I was given an all in one printer for my birthday, it coppied beautifully, except when I want it to print the other side, have you ever tried this and it all comes out over the page it's just done or upside down! or worst still not print at all! even Bob had a go, finally our son's came to the rescue, and to my shame have since calmed down.

And so Tomorrow
We are recovering from the death of family members, and try to comfort those who lost their loved ones, gradually the pain will ease, but when a marriage has lasted for over fifty years it come's very hard. I have heard it said that one can cope with the daytime, but it's the long evening's when there's no one to talk about your day to.
It's Easter Monday, and years ago Bob and I might be going off to a Grass track meeting, or to a Fete, but these day's we're inclined to take things a little more easy, I say easy, but we still rise early, and the first thing we do after our early morning cup of tea, is feed the dog's, and the bird's, after that we feed ourselves. For all the warm weather forecast, it's still pretty cold first thing, and so the scarves still go on and we set off for our regular walk, but the sun is breaking through and the first people to greet us are a young couple in short sleeve garment's, then familys on bike's, other folk and their dog's

family goodbye's
I must really be careful in future to secure what I am typing,(re-previous blog good bye) Now I must see if I can remember it all again.
George, a brother in-law, sadly passed away, he had been suffering Cancer for sometime, he was'nt one to make a lot of fuss. George was age 74, born in the country, but later, like many before him left to live in Town, but he loved his garden and was his pride and joy, still a country boy at heart, he insisted on having "I'm just a Country Boy" played at his funeral.
Tears ofcause are natural, but when families meet there is a lot to catch up on especially when they have'nt met for a long time. Later, it was the young cousins who laughed, they rejoiced at seeing each other again remembering old times. Soon they thought it would be an idea not to let it be so long before they met again, and arranged a family reunion sometime in the Summer.
Sadly, not long after, another brother-in-law died, he was Malcolm, age 78, he had suffered a stoke for almost 5 years, eventually complications set in which caused his family much stress. His widow is my youngest sister, and a more devoted person you'd yet to find.
Bob and I saw the drained look on her face, she had nursed Malcolm at home, and although she had carers for half an hour early morn and bed time, it was she who was there for him the rest of the time. They lived far from us, so we could only phone, but met occasionlly in the year.
Once again we attended a Funeral, once again there were those sad, sad tears. My tears at having to leave her, even though her grown up children gave her strong support, they too would have to leave eventually. But would you beleive it , brought laughter to the house, and as cousins recalled old times, it showed life must go on.

Busy day's
My world is suddenly very busy, I have started another computer course, so far so good, except that I've lost my Hearing Aid. My search has been extensive, even to looking in the most unlikely places, such as the fridge and the airing cupboard etc, I am not entirely deaf, but rather hard of hearing so you can guess what it's like when in a crowd! Now ofcourse, during Lent there will be various call's to attend Church a little more than normal, to start with we had Ash Wednesday, then a weekly Lenten course which will last throughout, and a Day of Recollection in March. There will be extra Rosary's, and Stations of the Cross, Benediction, and heaps more, a time to renew, and it's very comforting. But we have a death in the family, which means a Funeral to attend, we received more sad news of another member of the family very ill, so our thoughts are with them at this time.
Julie, our eldest daughter, has Pleurisy, she is too thin, and no she's not a model, but always on the go,never sits still for a minute. Bob my husband, has gout and it's not the red wine, and no we have'nt given it up for Lent!

joyce's world
I recently discovered blogging through reading Joanna Bogles article in The Catholic Herald, and thought I might like to try. I'm almost a newcomer to computing and often find it very frustrating, such as when I've typed something it suddenly all dissapears. I end up throwing my hands in the air crying I shall never get the hang of this! I rely on my two sons ( who are in the business) who come along and swiftly run their hands over keys and say, you just do this, and just do that, it's easy Mum, nothing to it! Huh! who are they kidding.
I booked a six weeks course in the local College, in the end I did'nt know if I was coming or going, my head was in a spin, made worse that their computers were different to mine, I was just getting the hang of one lesson when the Tutor swiftly went on to explain something else, I ask if she can wait while I finnish a sentance, but not a bit of it, I was told I could finnish it at home etc. Feeling very much the new girl, I feebly kept my head down, my chair seemed low, the man next to me offered to raise the seat, no, you'll have to get up first, he said, which I did, but sat down again a little too quickly nearly crushing his hand in the mechanism. Another thing, I wear glasses for close work but somehow I could'nt view the screen terribly well, so off I went to the Optician and explained the situation, a new pair of specs just for my computer work, so next time I was ready, there was a lot to take in and I was'nt quick enough, missing a word hear and there, well being partly deaf does make it a little difficult, the person next to me asked, did you get that? sorry I said, I cant quite hear, I missed another bit. Thinking I might do better next time, the Tutor said, no more classes for the next two weeks, just as well, I needed a holiday.
